Commercial Cooktop Repair in the San Francisco Bay Area

Same-day service from San Francisco to San Jose. Upfront pricing and a 90-day warranty on parts and labor.

One dead burner on a busy line slows every station around it. Best Pro repairs commercial range tops, countertop hot plates, stock pot ranges, wok ranges and countertop induction units for restaurants, cafés and catering kitchens around the Bay.

Open burners

The pilot keeps going out. A partly clogged pilot orifice, a draft from the hood or a back door, or — on burners with flame safety — a worn thermocouple.

The pilot is lit but the burner doesn’t catch. Grease has blocked the flash tube or the burner ports, or the pilot flame has shrunk until it can’t reach.

Flames that are lazy, yellow or uneven. Boil-overs and grease in the ports, an air shutter out of adjustment, or a regulator that’s letting the pressure sag. Yellow flame wastes gas and blackens the pans.

Knobs that are stiff, sloppy or leaking. Burner valves take a beating. One that leaks or won’t hold a low simmer gets rebuilt or replaced.

Wok ranges

From Chinatown to the South Bay, wok ranges are everywhere in Bay Area kitchens. Their jet burners clog with carbon and oil, the constant motion of the wok knocks pilots out, and the water spout and drain on the top wear. A wok flame that has gone weak, or roars unevenly, usually needs a burner cleaning or pilot work — not a new range.

Gas hoses and quick-disconnects

Equipment on casters is connected with a flexible gas hose, a quick-disconnect fitting and a restraining cable. Each time the line is rolled out for cleaning, those fittings wear a little. Smell gas near the line? Close the appliance shutoff and call us. We leak-test every connection we touch.

Induction and electric units

Countertop induction units mostly fail because grease and flour clog their cooling fans; then they overheat, throw errors and shut off. The power board and the coil come after that. Electric hot plates usually need an element or a control switch.

How we work

The technician finds the cause, not just the symptom, and prices the repair before starting. Repairs carry a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. For the ovens on your line, see convection oven repair and pizza oven repair.

FAQ

Commercial Cooktop Repair: common questions

Can you fix a wok range?

Yes: jet burners, pilots, and the water spout and drain on the top. A weak or uneven wok flame usually needs a burner cleaning or pilot work, not a new range.

We smell gas near the line. What do we do?

Shut the gas off at the appliance valve, keep flames and switches off, and call. If the smell is strong or spreading, get everyone out and call 911 or PG&E.

How quickly can you come?

Usually the same day. Call and we’ll give you an arrival window right away.
